Greetings Fellow Literary Brigands!
No haiku comic today, instead I have an hourglass poem for you.
Was once Royal Navy cabin boy
Then left her majesty's employ
At our first tropical port
Jumped ship at last resort
Fended for myself
Knowledge? Top shelf
Can climb mast
Run fast
Will
Kill
If you
Tell me too
When the weather's grim
Know which sails to trim
Help keep clear of patrols
Navigate the rocky shoals
I'll be your spy amongst the crew
Warn you of mutiny--be true to you
I’ve been working on a new edition of Pirate Haiku, mostly making minor tweaks and updating the front and back matter. I am adding a few black-and-white haiku comics to it and I’m also working on an audiobook edition.
I came across this poem that I had forgotten about, and it gave me a good laugh. (Is it bad form to laugh at your own work?)
Now I want to apply for a real job with a poem (I do not want to accept a real job, I just want to apply for one.)
Cheers,
Jason
Well done! I dare you to apply with a HAIKU
For a moment I thought I was reading a lost Gilbert and Sullivan song from The Pirates of Penzance. Nice!
