Hi Book People!

I previously ran this comic last March. It is one of the comics in Wild Divinity, my book coming out next week. This comic has a special place in my heart.

I will have a new comic tomorrow!

we search the heavens
for answers hiding withing
the walls of our hearts

The first draft of this haiku comic was the first time I ever created an illustrated haiku that was anything close to what was in my head. Here’s what it looked like:

The first draft of the We Search the Heavens comic

From the beginning, almost all of the elements were there. When I saw this, I knew my radical idea of making poetry comics would work if I continued to put in the work.

If I were to make this comic today, there are a lot of things I would change. But, I think the comic still holds up pretty well.

Thank you for continuing to read my daily posts and support my work. It means everything to me.

There are going to be a lot of exciting things in the newsletter over the next month! I can’t wait to share them with you!

Weirdo Poetry is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Cheers,

Jason

P.S. Since I’m going down memory lane, I shaved my beard off again last night (something I do a few times a year when it becomes unmanageable), and I remembered this comic from last year:
