Hello Kite-Flyers!
Sometimes, it’s fun to change things up.
a small, simple crack
unopposed, spent months stretching
across my windshield
If you’ve seen my work before, you know I’m a maximalist. I love seeing how much color and how many images I can cram into a single comic. However, my primary rule is that the art must serve the story. I want to enhance the poem or text, and sometimes that means dabbling with minimalism.
I’d forgotten how fun it can be to tell a story with just a few lines. While I’m not going to convert to minimalism, I will probably work harder to incorporate more of it in future comics. Everyone needs a change of pace.
What are your tendencies in your work? Are they conscious? Do you ever change things up? Tell me all about it!
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason
