Hello, Fellow Travelers!
About a month ago, I took a little road trip across the Willamette Valley from Salem to the small town of Amity to visit one of my oldest friends. He was here visiting his family for the somber occasion of saying goodbye to his sister and helping with funeral and burial arrangements.
Along the way to Amity, I pondered grief and death, all while taking in the beautiful sites of Oregon’s wine country.
Here you will find three of the haiku I wrote on that trip with new comics, the original sketch from my notebook, and my thoughts on the link between wonder, beauty, grief, and death.
