Hi Daydream Believers!
I’ve been reading a lot about the disappearance of places for children to play in our communities.
daisies wait in field
to be plucked by kids playing
loves-me-loves-me-not
Do kids still play this game with flowers? In our community, over the past 20 years the number of places for children and teens to gather has steadily dwindled. Every month there are reports of “concerned” neighbors calling the police or child protective services about kids doing normal things outside away from direct adult supervision. We seem to be in a world increasingly ruled by irrational fear, completely disconnected from the reality that most of us live in places that have never been safer.
Maybe we all need to go outside and spend more time with the flowers.
Be the poetry you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason

Was the same when I was a kid Instead of coming to chat to us they would call the cops and we'd get moved on.
It's fear and jealousy, and I think you're right nowadays it seems people are in fear of everything
I grew up in an era of free-range kids, before that phrase was even created. We kids frequently played the Loves me, Loves me not game. Guess I’m old? 🥳
