Hello, Humans!
Welcome to Weirdo Poetry 2024! A few changes are happening here. First, I’m experimenting with sending out fewer posts each week, but with more comics in each post. This is to help me free up more time to work on book projects while delivering more poetry comics to you each week. The paid edition with a couple of free haiku comics for everybody will go out on Tuesdays, and the full free edition will go out on Fridays.
I’m also working on writing 3,500 haiku this year, or about 10 new haiku a day. Below the paywall, you will find a link where you can see my progress and read the poems I post each day.
I’m also starting an asynchronous poetry book club. This month we’re reading Haiku: The Last Poems of an American Icon by Richard Wright. Be sure to order your copy soon if you want to participate in the book club. There are more details about how this will work below the paywall.
Lastly, on January 15, 2024, the price for a newsletter subscription is going up to $7 a month or $70 a year—CURRENT PAID SUBSCRIBERS AND NEW PAID SUBSCRIBERS WHO JOIN BEFORE 1/15/24 WILL BE LEGACIED INTO THEIR CURRENT PRICE STRUCTURE.
And now, your haiku comics:
flooded park pathway converted into bird bath cluster of robins
steel-colored river flows, unaware of new year, forever westwards
The rest of this post is for paying subscribers. Below this paywall, you will find more haiku comics, a sound recording of bald eagles from my New Year’s Day walk, some pictures from my notebook, the link to the 3,500 Haiku Project poems, and more information about the Asynchronous Poetry Book Club. Paid subscribers get full access to Tuesday posts and FREE digital copies of my books and zines as they are released.
