Hello, Spring Fever Dreamers!
Back in early January, I shared three bald eagle haiku comics. I also made a fourth one but did not share it.
The fourth haiku comic in that series was originally part of a bold experiment spearheaded by
, where a group of creators came together to make three episodes of a strange show called Salon Du Monde, Fremont. My haiku comic had a small part as an interstitial piece in the third episode.Below you can find my short video. The background sounds are real eagle calls I recorded while taking a New Year’s walk along the Willamette River. I made this as part of my effort to experiment with more ways of sharing and presenting poetry.
I have a, perhaps delusional, conviction that many more people would love poetry if only it were presented in an accessible way, something far removed from the way poetry is usually taught in schools.
I’ve also posted the other three comics in the series below the video.
two bald eagles perch atop a bare alder tree survying river
eagles screech warnings at trio of ducks flying too close for comfort
across the river, eagels trill at each other their New Year's greetings
juvenile eagle squawks about his solitude while looking for fish
Thanks for reading!
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason
I really love these Jason. The art is excellent and each one of those haiku is sublime. My favourite is the juvenile eagle.
You made a video!
