Personal Update
It’s been a little more than a month since my last newsletter. During my unplanned hiatus, I’ve had a lot of time to think about the direction I want to take Weirdo Poetry.
First, I’m going to rededicate myself to this newsletter. It’s one of the most fun things I do. I will be looking for ways to make each issue better than the one before.
Second, I’m experimenting with blogging on the Weirdo Poetry site. I used to get paid to write on Medium, but that platform appears to be in a death spiral, and most of the editors I worked with in the past have jumped ship.
The blog posts on Weirdo Poetry will cover a variety of topics, but will mostly be about my weird takes on pop culture. At the end of this newsletter, you will find some links to my recent posts.
I will be adding and changing more things in the coming weeks. Experimentation and iteration at the heart of my entire Weirdo Poetry project. Most of the things I try will fail, but every so often I stumble across something that makes a difference in people’s lives—that’s what I live for,
I’m still working on my haiku graphic novel, and it should be published later this summer.

Best of the Blog
Here are links to my best posts on the Weirdo Poetry blog this past week:
The One With the Labor Solidarity
A short post about how the decision to negotiate their salaries together made the show Friends better. Labor solidarity was good for the creative energy of the show.
Olivia Rodrigo’s “Brutal” Plays Games With Pop Song Tropes
A deep dive into the brilliance of Brutal from Rodrigo’s incredible debut album Sour
Thanks for your patience while I try and figure this creative life out!
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
