Hello, Seafarers!
actions of the tide
mechanical, unaware
of our human lives
After a few weeks filled with high human drama, it’s nice to be reminded that the mighty ocean is indifferent to my plight. I love the mechanical way the tides work. You can predict their comings and goings if you have enough information. There’s virtually nothing we can do to alter the action of the tides.
I find that natural, mechanical indifference to be awe-inspiring and soothing.
