Hello, Party People!
Our summer break started a little differently than expected.
summer vacation
begins with cleansing rainstorm
we watch from inside
Yesterday was the first weekday where everyone was out of school. We spent the weekend setting up the hammock and getting our summer stuff ready. So, of course, it rained all day.
It’s hard to live where we do and not love the rain. We get a lot of it in this part of Oregon. However, it was a little dispiriting to start our summer with two straight days of rain.
Luckily, the kids adapted quickly. They spent the day in blissful repose, lounging around reading, playing games, zoning out on their phones, and getting annoyed at my antics.
However, on the bright side, a good summer rain cleans the air of pollen and brings out the petrichor.

I hope you’re having a great summer!
Cheers,
Jason
