On Weariness

When even rest offers little respite

Hi Adventurers!

I’m a big believer in rest. I usually get a good night’s sleep, and I often take short breaks during the day. But sometimes events conspire to rob rest of its restorative power.

spring snowflakes flutter,
despite our weariness,
powdering the ground

When rest loses its power to heal and restore, and even the weather seems to conspire against me, I grip onto my hope that much tighter—willing myself to see the other side of this trial.

P.S. For anyone interested in my personal drama, here is the latest update. Becky is still in the hospital. It has now been a week. Her health has been up and down and her progress often halting. We aren’t sure when she will be home, it could be tomorrow, or it could be in a few more days. But she is making progress.
