Our malleable memories

Hi Curtain Climbing Friends!

We create truth by lying to ourselves and calling it memory.

One of our human superpowers is to change the way we remember things. Our memories are not fixed. We have the power to change the past by thinking about it differently.

The trick is using this power responsibly.

What in your life has become a more pleasant memory than what you experienced at the time?

My nostalgia for the 90s music of my teens is often more favorable than the music itself warrants.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try writing a poem about a memory.

Weirdo Poetry is a reader-supported publication. It only exists because of the generosity of readers like you! Your $5 allows me to write more poetry and make more art.

Be the weird you want to see in the world!

Cheers,

Jason

Turn the grind into grunge and flood the scene with teen angst and rebellion. Skate surf and Art your heart out
