Hi, Poetry Hunters & Gatherers!
I have a lot of half-formed thoughts about taste, influence, and inspiration swirling around in my mind that aren’t quite ready to be shared. So, while all that stuff continues to ferment, here are three spring haiku comics from last year.
stark lightning flashes
concussive thunder crashes
rip me from my dreams
a gentle river
impressionist painting of
its banks and the sky
first apple blossoms
announcing end to winter’s reign
spring revolution
Artist Note
On Saturdays, I’m going to be posting comics that I already published. Most of the time, I will be resharing comics that are at least a year old. This will help me keep up a daily posting schedule while also working on longer projects. It will also give these comics another shot at life since many of you will not have seen them before or may have forgotten them.
Tomorrow you will be getting a special collaboration between
of and myself. We have made a couple of haiga. A haiga is an artwork that combines haiku and visual images. Arguably my haiku comics are an example of haiga. In tomorrow’s collaboration, the free verse haiku are by Kyle, and the artwork is by me.Be the poetry you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason
