Hello, Brainiacs!
First, I want to give you a warning. Below you will find a GIF that might irritate you if you are sensitive to flashing lights. The GIF is an animated version of today’s comic. I designed it to show how it sometimes feels to walk around with all of these thoughts and ideas in my head. I put some space between the comic and the GIF so that you can read the comic and then close the newsletter if you do not want to see the GIF.

Second, I wanted to let you know about a fantastic haiku book coming out next month. It’s called, Twilight Zone Haiku, and it’s written by Chad Boykin.
I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of the book. Chad has written some brilliant poems. The book contains a haiku for each episode of the original run of the show. I had the opportunity to do some illustrations for Chad’s website promotional efforts that I will be sharing with you closer to his launch.
I will be sharing the link to the book once it’s available.
The Inside of My Brain
Sometimes I get asked what it’s like to have anxiety and ADHD. Since I have never experienced a brain that works any other way, it can be hard to articulate the sensation of having a thousand ideas at the same time alternating with having just one or two thoughts that I cannot let go of.
My weird brain is a superpower. I do not experience the state of not having anything to write about or draw. But, there are also plenty of downsides. I need to fence myself in if I want to meet deadlines or finish projects.
Mostly, my brain is a kinetic playground. But, it can get overwhelming. The GIF below is about as close as I’ve come so far to a visual representation of what is going on inside my head at any given time.
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason
Love this haiku, and I really liked the still art for this one, until I got to the live art at the bottom, which is just perfect for this poem!
And I agree with your subtitle. Our oddities are our superpowers!
I loved the little rocket
