Hello Early Bird and Worms!
What makes you hopeful?
I have a file on my computer called 100+ Ways to Become Indominitible. It’s mostly a list of things that I have found that make me more resilient. Some items include crying, screaming in the car where no one can hear you, laughing, and serving others. This file also has a few completed essays and outlines for many more. The file isn’t for a future book. It’s for me. Undergirding everything is hope.
I used to think hope was the opposite of doubt. Now, I know that doubt and hope are traveling companions and that most of us host them both at the same time. The goal is to make sure that you let hope have the last word in any conversation. Doubt should have their say but always end with hope.
About the Art
I swiped the songbirds from public-domain illustrations of Joseph Wolf. He made a series of beautiful drawings for the Zoological Society of London. The barren tree and the tree branches are modified stock images. I drew the rest with watercolor brush pens.
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason
P.S. Later today, you will be receiving Letter 4 in my series with Nathan Davila, author & narrator for Cloud Grounding Publications about consciousness. This letter is my response to Nathan’s third letter in the series. After today, Nathan and I will each write one more letter to close out the series.
“Traveling companions” 💙
Beautiful haiku and images, Jason!
