My Attention Engine

Over the past year, I’ve radically changed how I use my notebook. Previously, I used my notebooks as places to write poetry, randomly dump all of my thoughts, and occasionally as a journal.

But now, I’ve found it more helpful to use my notebooks as attention engines. Now a notebook is a place where I can put in inputs to find what I am focused on. I doodle, collage, write poetry, sometimes journal, and sometimes brainstorm. I use my notebooks as places to try out ideas for comics or art projects. It’s my playground.
