Hello, Weirdos!
Did you know that I sometimes write poems that aren’t haiku?
Here are five small poems, sans illustrations.
Relativity
We took a trip to the far reaches of the galaxy, staring
wild-eyed at the night sky. Curiosity was our rocket fuel,
and just like Einstein predicted,
upon our return, we had hardly aged.
But our world felt different.

Negentropy
She traveled to the time
before the beginning
where it was still, cold, and empty
She traveled to the time
after the end
when it was again still, cold, and empty
Negentropy to Entropy

Advice to Young Artists
If some nosy jackass
asks you what you want to
do with your life, tell them you
plan on surfing autumn winds in
a maple seed helicopter, hibernating
all winter like an Alaskan grizzly
who gorged on nothing but Pacific salmon
and boysenberries, make love all spring like
a dragonfly destined to perish at season’s end, and
sway like a lullaby in the summer breeze with the
coastal grass in August.
Then go and do it.

The Appointed Time
If we paid attention,
we would not be afraid of Death.
Instead of being shocked when
She came to claim us,
we would know that She
has been our companion
since the beginning,
preserving us until
the appointed time

Waiting for Something And a happy couple enters the bar Dangerously close to one another —Sheryl Crow, All I Wanna Do Two teens loiter “Dangerously close to one another,” as Sheryl once sang. One arm swing brings their fingers within touching distance. He pulls back, his face flush. She turns her head away from his and grins. They keep walking down the hill, both waiting for something to happen

Be the poetry you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Sometimes “all you wanna do is have some fun!"
I'm guessing there are some young artists out there who would breathe deeper and laugh sooner and have more fun living if they got your "Advice," Jason. Love that one especially.
