Dookie is my all-time favorite Green Day album. I was just listening to it the other day, in fact! Your concert experience sounds wild!
I used to go see the Dave Matthews Band once or twice a summer. They’re such talented musicians, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want for a summer concert. Once, in Bethel Woods, they started playing “Don’t Drink the Water” and the skies opened up. It was absolutely pouring and everyone was going ballistic. Dave did too. It was awesome! I’ll never forget that concert moment.
The Rolling Stones Steel Wheels tour back in 1989. And sometime around then, there was an event at Madison Square Garden called "Garden Party", with lots of groups from the 50s and 60s. My parents took us. It was finals week. I brought a textbook with me and was annoyed, until the music started and my parents morphed into teenagers, standing on the seats and dancing their butts off. Still a favorite memory!
