Followed! I love your newsletter and learning more about photography. I mostly use photography as a tool for my collage illustrations, taking reference photos and framing shots the way I want a scene to look later when I collage/draw it. But I want to start taking more interesting nature photos as I delve deeper into the connection between outside and our souls. Thanks for stopping by!

Flipboard! I’d forgotten about that one. Oh my! I need to embrace the Haiku, thanks for the links with regards to those!

I’m an unrepentant haiku junkie. Their brevity belies so much complexity. Wright is such a masterful writer.

I shave my husband's head with a safety razor. It's a great trust exercise. (Also swirling the soap/brush on his head is apparently very relaxing.)

Ha! When we were first married, some 25 years ago, Becky tried giving me a haircut to save money and it didn’t go well for either of us. She vowed she’d never cut my head again. My hair is easier to cut now, so my teens help out.

Yes! This looks amazing! I’m already in love with Flipboard as a curation and collaboration tool! It feels like what Pinterest promised to be like before it went full paid ads, etc.

My pleasure! I love the haiku you pick and especially the ones you write. Haiku Daily is an important part of my push to slow down and notice. And people should definitely be on the lookout for our collaboration!

I'd read your essay on haiku! And, I agree with you about how it helps to focus attention, teaching us to pay attention.

Recently, I had surgery and couldn't sleep in the step-down unit I was put in. I noticed the waning moon crossing the window by my bed and wrote haiku about it:

2:05 a.m.

waning moon above city

hospital room view

Not that good, but got my mind focused elsewhere.

Thanks Alan! I’m going to have to buckle down and write the thing! I love your story about how noticing the moon and writing a haiku gave you some small reprieve while in the hospital. I think your poem is good. I love how the last line frames the whole image.
