Wow! Where do I start? At 65, I look back at all the "impossible" things I've done simply by refusing to accept their impossibility.
These are all brilliant and so deep, Jason. Rubber ducks and imposter syndrome! What a great metaphor for how we compare our reality with the fantasy we believe is the perfection of others' lives.
Thank you for this wonderful collection of haiku. Reading them this morning was like a meditation!
Some great advice for my 51 y/o inner adolescent who still doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life. I’m going to share it with my three young adult children who need to hear it too. Thanks for creating.
Congratulations to your kids! I have been working the last two weeks to figure out what my Substack is going to be about from here on and with some help, I have narrowed (though that’s not the right word!) it to uncertainty and change. So much of what you’ve written really resonates!
That sounds like a great focus for your newsletter. The world seems to demand certainty about so many things that we can never be sure of. I’m glad these poetry comics resonates with you! Thanks for reading
I have found an incredible amount of creativity since I joined Substack, and I am so pleased to have found your work via this article. I have never seen haiku (a favorite poetic form) and comics (a deep childhood love that goes unfulfilled these days) together and it is a brilliant idea that you create splendidly. Thank you for the joy and thoughtfulness that came from reading this.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words! I’ve never quite grown out of my childhood love of picture books and my teen obsession with comics--and so here I am lol.
What a beautiful collection of haiku. Thanks so much for this. And congratulations to the graduate! 🎉 What an exciting (and bittersweet, I’m sure) time for you!
Such a beautiful gift! Thank you for just what I needed, even at my post-adulting age.
I'm so glad this resonated with you! We all need gentle reminders from time to time
What a generosity--a Feast! 🙏✨
Thank you!
