They are gorgeous! I am not sure what time of year these were at Sharks Cove but it was early August when the Honda were everywhere. We could see them from the road on west side of the cove. We stopped to get out and watch them. They are so graceful in the water -every time I go I see something else new!
On Sunset Beach there was a monk seal sunning on the shoreline. He was magnificent! Never knew the were that large! They are also gorgeous! We have been goin almost every year as he is from there so we visit family.
Jason, that was so great. It would only be the smallest shift for today's post to be the inspiration for an excellent children's book.
Years ago, our son was not so good on land as a boy but in 9th grade he took up swimming and by 12th grade he was the state champ. He still loves water.
That's a great story! I love it when kids find their stride (or stroke) in high school. I wish our system focused more that instead of test scores. Thank you for your kind words! Now, I'm thinking about the possibility of reworking this into a children's book. Hmm…
Thank you! I read your latest post after I had scheduled this, and I was thinking about how I would work more hero's journey into an extended version of the sea turtle journey. It's a great fit.
I wonder how we can do a better job helping our youth and young adults to find their places in the world instead of trying to force them into something that worked (or didn't work) for the previous generations.
HOMESCHOOL. Show them was has and is being done out there, then allow them the time and resources to explore their own interests. And try to stay the f*ck out of the way. That's the hard part.
I'm glad! Thanks for reading and hanging our with me!

So true. And you nailed the effort and courage it takes to make that change from land to sea and to find the right current. Bravo!
