Hi, Daring Chroniclers!
I have something a little different today.
I have run out of new illustrated haiku. So, I’m sharing some of the art I’ve done for some of the custom haiku requests that have come in. I'm also sharing a few haiku that I’ve shared in some other places.
I’ve been fighting a virus all week1, and my queue of new illustrated work has been exhausted. I will be back with all new work tomorrow!
Here are some of my haiku that people have been responding to:
they saw the same moon
from different hemispheres
reflecting their love
***
if the path is clear
you may be on the wrong one
expect obstacles
***
9 of 10 people
believe they will beat the odds
1 in 10 took stats
***
warm electric fuzz
a musical alchemy
of guitar and amp
***
rain on the rooftop
taps out lines of poetry
I sit and transcribe
***
I also did something a couple of days ago that I’ve never done before—I entered a haiku contest. I saw an ad on social media about a haiku contest where the theme was to write a haiku about something blue. The contest was through Vocal. The submission deadline was less than 12 hours away when I found the contest. It did allow for previously published haiku. Here are the five poems I submitted. The judges will announce their decision on January 5th.
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
Cheers.
Jason
P.S. I am still taking requests for custom haiku. You pay what you want, even $0! You simply email me at jason@weridopoetry.com and tell me what you want your haiku to be about, and I will write a custom haiku for you within 24 hours. Sometimes, I even create illustrated versions of the poems like you see here. When I send you the poem, I also send my Venmo and PayPal info, and you can tip me if you so desire. These can be great gifts for creative friends or family members.
All signs point to it being a nasty type of RSV that’s going around these parts and filling up the pediatric wings of the hospitals. Becky has seen a ton of severe RSV cases this winter at the hospital, and everyone else in the family was sick last week. I waited until everyone was better before succumbing.
Feel better soon! I love these so hard, and treasure mine! Thanks 🙏🏻
Feel better, my friend. Many of my family members are down with the same thing!
