Hey Jason, love this idea, I'm trying to somewhat do this with my upcoming book as well. Out of all the options you described, the guidebook jumped out to me the most as well, would love to see what you come up with :)

A guidebook or something similar to it involving the Oregon coast line. It’s one of only three Western states I’ve never visited.

Oregon has a lot to offer! I hope you can make it here someday--we could have lunch! What are the other two Western states you have yet to visit?

What an exciting new project! I enjoy reading books that are the result of an organic development process—so I say go with the flow and see where it takes you!

Jason, I think all these ideas are cool. Your action plan sounds like great fun for your whole family. I agree with Liz--just start. Go with the flow and let the project show you what it wants to be :-)

Thank you, Ann! I'm much more of a ready, fire, aim kind of creator than one who is hyper organized with a carefully alphabetized box of index cards 🤣 But, I've learned I have to put some kind of fence around my work if I ever want to publish
