I recently learned to read the i-ching. I now carry three coins in my back pack, and been thinking a lot of the 'yins and yangs' of the coins. Thanks for this!
In an old Woody Allen movie, "Bananas", a poet reads a poem about a butterfly turning into a caterpillar. There was a lot of talk about whether a poem should be accurate.
Lol, seriously! Usually, my daughter loses some infinitely small toy, which then leads my poor wife to tear the house apart, often with no luck, which then leads to my foot inadvertently finding it in the dead of night along with a myriad of muffled expletives.
Happy to be mostly passed that phase now that my kids are older, although I did drive an hour to fetch my 16-year-old's Taylor Swift Era's Tour sweatshirt they left at camp. 😂😂😂
three coins in my hand
heads and tails for yins and yangs
yeah I got spare change
This is great. That middle line is so good!

Sent to the small ones a couple minutes ago - already got one haiku back!
Awesome!
small cut tulip shell
with a bit of tape affixed
now unicorn horn
Love this!
a river stone slides
from under a swept bookcase
grandson's explorations
This is a good one. It’s amazing what kids are able to find being so close to the ground
I can't wait to see what he puts in his pockets as he grows: all those snips and snails and puppydog tails await!
Two eco poop bags
Puppy smells and takes his time
One eco poop bag
Ha! This made me laugh!
Great little haiku, I'm always surprise how much you can pack into those few words.
Thank you! I'm often surprised that these little poems mean anything to anyone else.
Behold the squirrel.
He forgets more than he finds
seeds of the forest.
I love this! Science fact haiku! I also love the poetry of nature developing an evolutionary strategy that relies of squirrels being easily distracted

Tiny blue mermaid
In her coat pocket, turns out,
She had not lost it!
Beautiful! Feels like a story every parent has witnessed with gratitude. A lost object feels like such a tragedy when we’re children

My favourite bean
Is the red adzuki bean
They're so small, so cute
Love this, Raphy!
Red veined pebble rests,
In the palm, a world unfolds,
Stories of the earth.
Whispers from the past,
Lines of time, smooth and ancient,
Pocketed secret.
Cradled by the tides,
Now nestled close to my heart,
Stone of memories.
This is a wonderful haiku sequence!
Thank you. I picked up a small sliver of rock at Red Rock Canyon. It is beautiful and ancient.
