I couldn't write without music. It's extremely tied to my process. A couple years ago I tried teaching myself guitar because I got frustrated that I could love music so much without knowing an instrument... I'm still a novice but it's fun to just sit down once in a while and pluck the strings.
In another life I am a farmer. Which I've been trying to be in this life, though with far less success. I have a very large garden (orchard, berries, nut trees, greenhouse, many many beds of vegetables), and it produces some amazing things. But again I am unable to coax the corn and squash from the ground due to an erratic spring, and I know that farmer me would find a way to do better. He would know the soil's needs or have a better seed storage method. He would take more time sifting through compost and weeding. He would be better at this. Dirt would be his language.
I used to have a big garden too with berries, and vegetables. I still have eight fruit trees, but they are in sad shape. I'm working to reclaim my garden, but find that there's so much I don't know about soil, and basic tree care/repair. I can see the appeal of being a farmer that grew enough food for my family and a decent surplus to sell.
I love how you say that for farmer you, dirt would be his language. That's beautiful
That sounds amazing! I only did theater my senior year in high school and I often wish I had further pursued it. (I was the villain Tybalt in my school's production of Romeo and Juliette.
If we were living in a rational society, we would be focusing on automating jobs so we could all have the time and money to make all the art our hearts desire
I once had an acquaintance who told me they didn’t really like music and I was shook. She didn’t even like to listen to music in the car. It was all talk radio. I couldn’t find function like that

I feel the same way. My oldest has volunteered to teach me piano or guitar and I'm going to start lessons with her this summer!
That's awesome!

In another life, I would’ve decided to be a writer as soon as I discovered writing.
I hear that. In another life, I would have been a writer and illustrator much earlier. I spent too much time trying to make other people happy.
I'd be an actor in the theatre with a big voice who loves to play the villain

Good question! Probably a musician. I’ve got a keyboard just sitting here in the nook. Just don’t have the time to pursue it further.

Music is my desert island art form.
