Yes. Gravitation toward the middle and acceptance of our collective center is a healthy sign for society. Getting in touch with what’s happening around us puts us in touch with local vibes, ecology.
Definitely. So many of us think success comes in mobile phone shape that we’ve forgotten simple things like waking up refreshed can make such a difference in our day.
Absolutely!!!! And the "goalposts" of so-called success from the point of view of capitalism will always be moving upwards. It will benefit the billionaires if ordinary people frantically chase those goalposts even when it means running themselves into debt etc trouble. When ordinary people try to play the game and reach the goalposts the billionaire class, with Republican political assistance, can/will ruthlessly extract money from the ordinary folks at the stores, extract value from their time/wages, from banking fees, via debt collectors, via the healthcare industry ... the only people who benefit are the billionaires, their Republican politicians and possibly some religious groups. Yes, the best response we can do is to become radically mundane!! Great post!! Thank you!!!
Thank you, I needed this today! The endless obligations and aggressions of social media get so tiring and annoying. Meanwhile real life is right here, ready to welcome us.
My pleasure! Thanks for reading! I was talking with my two young adult children about how, when we only absorb politics from what we get on our screens, we miss the really ways policies affect people, and we forget how to interact with the people in our community we have to live next to.
Definitely. That’s become one of my guiding principles for choosing what I can help with, among the overwhelming options: prioritize my own community, city, and state, as I’ll likely have more influence there and feel more connected to the issue.
Lately, I've struggled with the idea that my life has become mundane. Then, like you, I realized it's okay. I love the freedom this kind of thinking offers.
I absolutely love your collage art, more than perfect for your writing offering. Lockdown allowed for the mundane to become beautiful if you took the time to notice. So glad your post popped up in my feed today!
Thank you, Marjorie! It's funny that you mentioned the lockdown. My post for tomorrow includes some haiku I wrote during the early months to sketch my life at the time. When I think about the COVID lockdowns, I always feel sad that we had the chance to remake our society and instead decided to keep things mostly the same, only just a little worse than before.

Perfect Days and Paterson.
Local vibes might be the only way to save ourselves from being eaten by the machines
Definitely an inoculation against everything the robots are teaching us
The audaciously mundane life!! Words to live by.

Yes! Waking up refreshed is one of the greatest underappreciated joys!

I saw a comment somewhere that said if the billionaires are enthusiastic about something, it can only mean it's bad for the working class.
Oh that's an excellent way to phrase it!!

Beautiful

It is a great freedom to learn to love the everyday tasks of living!
Totally living and embracing the mundane life here, too. Great reminder to make that, in and of itself, audacious.
Well said! These are much needed thoughts in our driven world. Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by to read!

I enjoy writing haiku as well, it allows me to focus on the moment. The chaos of current events takes a backstage, my nerves are calmed.
The unspoken thoughts between the 3 lines expands the meaning for each reader. Looking forward to your next offering tomorrow ☺️✍️
Ah, jeez, this is just so perfect, Jason.
Thanks!
