Hello, Prisoners of Entropy!
I have a different kind of poetry comic today. Instead of a haiku, I have a non-haiku poem that I’ve illustrated over six pages. I stumbled across this poem while preparing today’s post, and I don’t remember writing it. My trusty spreadsheet says I wrote it on February 20, 2020, and who am I to question the spreadsheet?
Nothing to Nothing
She
traveled to the time
before the Beginning.
Where it was still, cold, and empty. She
traveled to the time
after the End.

And Everything In Between
Whenever I feel myself begin to complain about anything related to my creative work, I stop myself and think about the nothing before the Big Bang and the inevitable heat death of the Universe. Then I consider that in the course of eternity, I’m fortunate enough to live during the time after creation and before destruction. Everything in between these two cosmic events is a wonder, including my small acts of creation.
Then I get on with it.
My shorthand for this mental exercise is, “And Everything In Between.”
Be the poetry you want to see in the Universe!
Cheers,
Jason
