Thanks. I'm sorry you've had to go through something like this. Our society doesn't treat the mentally ill, we just move them around

I grew up having a mentally ill very religious family member... and I hear you loud and clear. Be gentle with yourself today. Remember to drink water and breathe deeply. Hugs.

Helplessly watching people I love suffer is something I still don't know how to do :(

It is the toughest. Requires some zen type spiritual detachment... I'm slowly learning

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, Jason. It's so hard to feel helpless in the face of mental illness. The system badly fails those who are most vulnerable. Sending you all the hugs, my friend.

Thank you. The system feels pretty hopeless sometimes.

Having been both a provider and consumer of its services, I can truly attest to that.

So much to carry. Walking reading poetry and hugging closely those near your heart-good recipes for such sorrow.

Thank you. I strongly believe that it's important to feel all of our emotions, even ones like sorrow. I also believe in learning how to allow these emotions to pass through you as you feel them to make room for other ones. The older I get, the more I understand connecting with other people and nature through poetry, hugs, and walking is the only way I can process my more difficult emotions.

You are wise to lean on others and your poetry is your super power, Jason.
