Thanks! I think it's the bittersweet nature of life. Every transition is an exciting new opportunity and a heartbreaking goodbye to familiar ways and people. The great haiku masters tried to capture this sense as wabi-sabi in their poems.
One of the reasons I started making comics, graphic essays, and poetry comics was to help make my writing more accessible for my ADHD daughter, and others who find it difficult to process blocks of text, for whatever reason. So I love that you enjoyed scrolling to the images!
You don't know how much this comment warms my heart. I recently discovered a notebook that I thought I had lost back in 2021. One of the notes in there is a question I asked myself, "What do I want to create?" I scribbled down, "Make picture books for grown-ups". And that's what I've been trying to figure out how to do ever since.
This is so touching! The song that went thru my head at first was Ripple.
In the area of Western Kentucky where I grew up had the 2 huge lakes & dams. There was also a spot in the town of Paducah which has a flood wall with murals on each section. The confluence of three rivers that flows to where those lakes & dams are. It was something I learned in school which I didn’t really get it until I could drive and hang out on the inside of the edge of the confluence. It was so very peaceful - I read the signs about the area and my local geography class finally stuck!
I love the way you have described the flow of the creek & the lake. It sounds like a wonderful place.
So very lovely.
Thank you!
We are all part of something bigger than ourselves.
Awww
Discovering this is one of life's greatest joys!
That's good.
Thank you!
This is so beautiful, why am I so sad 😭

The way you presented it was phenomenal.
I especially like the artwork of the confluence points. Lovely piece!
Thank you! Those were definitely the hardest things for me to figure how to illustrate! I decided figurative looked better than being too literal
Nice! I love the mix of poetry and art!
Thank you! This type of work is my favorite thing to create!
I love the artwork for this one.
totally agree. I am not much of a reader and so immediately find myself scrolling to images

How amazing is that? Thank you for sharing this. Wow! Unbelievable… same words. But hey, this is what you’re doing here. Amongst other things.

Thank you so much, Pamela! Pringle Creek is a pretty wonderful place.
lovely pictures
Thank you!
Lovely, simply lovely! Thank you, Jason.
Thanks for reading! I'm happy that you enjoyed it!
So compellingly beautiful and yet overwhelming as I imagine morphing from one kind of water to a deeper, darker place, lost.
Thanks! I do think that thinking about expansion and eternity is almost too much for our primate brains to handle!
Likely though the concept of egos dissolving into quiet space doesn’t horrify me as it once did.
I also am more comfortable with this idea than I was even a few years ago.
Confluence. I'm likin it, Jason!
Thanks!
