My dad used to say, "See you in the funny papers"! My favorite out of today's group is the first comic with the whale. Pacific migrants, brilliant!!

Love these! Had forgotten about Rocket. The sunrise colours beautifully and dramatic. Great start to the day. What does it mean to see the kids in the funny papers?

I'm not even sure what it's supposed to mean. As a kid I thought it meant meeting up to read the comics in the morning paper. Other times I thought it meant the kids was going to turn into a cartoon character. I use it as a ritual and as a callback to my grandpa.

Thought it meant that the kids were up to mischief like the cartoon characters! Either way it adds to the mystery.

Whenever I spent the night at my grandparents as a kid, I'd climb up into my seat at the breakfast table Sunday morning and my grandfather would hand me the funny pages so we could read the paper together.
