Another fascinating book divided by microseasons is Unearthing by Kyo Maclear.

I’m guessing you didn’t grow up in Southern California, where the habitual lack of sunshine has led to the universal designations “May Gray” and June Gloom” - not that I’m complaining! Before long we’ll be baking in the heat, so cool mornings are welcome this time of year!

“Meteors in your eyes” gave me goosebumps!

So true May gray and June gloom play a record that skips a beat of hot summers percussion sirens sounds, bells ring, Hollywood Bowl concerts sing with windows open and wine passed around.

Thanks! Yeah, I grew up in the Bay Area, May and June were when we'd cut school and go surf out at Santa Cruz!

Great colors in the comics. They make the dialogue pop.

Thanks! The colors are my favorite part of all of this!

A change would do you good is a great song! New album? Better listen! Love your fluffy clouds Jason. I saw a heron the other day... very sneaky. Trying to hide in broad day light. Flew away as I caught his eye! I thought, this is a scene you'd have loved.

The new album is pretty good. There are at least three songs that I feel are as good as anything she has done in her career.

Which ones?

My three favorites are:

Do It Again

Evolution

Alarm Clock

These three are as good as anything Crow as event done.

Alarm clock was fun! I need to listen again!

Wow, Jason!!! I can't wait to see how the small seasons are expressed in Conifers and the Cosmos. I know your artful haiku will light up the wheel of the year in surprising ways, as only 🔥YOU🔥 can do!

This sounds so perfect, Jason! I'm so partial to naming seasons by the way we experience them, in addition to the traditional ways. Like we have maple syrup season, and teeny-toad season, and now we're in apple blossom season...Noticing and connecting to time and life that way really adds something to your awareness, you know? So, great idea, and great choices for comics so far!

Thank you! I agree that linking the seasons to the way we experience them adds something to our lives

I love the lone green heron contemplating its reflection! "Everyday is a winding road".... yes!

Thanks! I feel like the luckiest person in the world anytime I come across a green heron or a great blue heron on my meanderings.

Great blues are that way for me where I am… always a symbol…. and I’ve seen night herons. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a green.
