Hello Voyagers!
If there is still magic in our world, you will find it on a snow day.
We don’t get a lot of snow. We get snow falling from the sky a handful of times a year, and if we’re really lucky, we will get one or two snow days.
Having spent most of my growing-up years in California, snow days are still magical.
Time stops. Routines are suspended—and our existence momentarily becomes focused on fun.
We live up on a steep hill that is never plowed. When the snow sticks, we get out the sleds and act like we’re at a ski resort. The kids and I sled all day, occasionally taking breaks to make a snowman or to drink some hot chocolate. Since I don’t have a “real” job, I get snow days too. If Becky is off work, she joins us outside and usually instigates a snowball fight.
When the school district tries some nonsense like telling us it’s a digital learning day, our WiFi mysteriously doesn't work for school-related sites.

the magic of snow
Every kid deserves to have a few magical days in their childhood where their time is still their own, and everything stops for a bit of fun.
We’re still hoping for our first snow day this year.
Be the weird you want to see in the world!
Cheers,
Jason
Couldn’t agree more with you on this. It makes me upset that so many school districts attempt to rob children of these magical days. ❄️
