Thank you, Jason, for your inspiration and love of haiku. It just so happens I was going to post a haiku today about something that gave me a literal flash of insight and awe. Then I remembered a stream of haiku I wrote just a few weeks ago and may include those as well. You're right. Life is pretty good when you can repose in some comfortable, safe place with poetry nearby, either in a book or within your own head. Rest easy, my friend, and let the stream flow.
Welcome back. I’ve often thought I can get through most things as long as I have a book with me -partly for oblivion, partly for hope. Sending good wishes.
So glad to "see" you again Jason!!! I'm glad you're finding comfort where you can. I hope it's a comfor to you to know that I missed you and that I appreciate you so much!!!
Welcome back!
Thanks! I missed this a lot more than i thought I would!
hammock stretched between
two trees near the river shore
like the haiku form

I love that idea of partly for oblivion and partly for hope. That's a great description.
A familiar sight
Heron at the stream’s edge
Her eye on the prize
I love the heron as a symbol of hope!
It’s good to have you back! I enjoyed reading this a lot! Thank you for linking my latest upload!
My pleasure! I love seeing more people experiment with haiku.

It's nice to be missed. I missed you and the rest of this community so much I had to come back earlier than planned!
I'll be glad to see you whenever you're able - just take good care of yourself.
Books, coffee, you and me
Walks by the river our hands sometimes
Together our hearts always
I love that haiku! Those last two lines are especially beautiful!
💚💚💚💚
moonlight streaming in
turns my bedroom to silver
I feel like a star
I love the idea of feeling like a star because of the moonlight! Thanks for sharing this wonderful haiku!
July. Western wind.
Ink spilled from indigo clouds
stains the mango moon.
Fantastic! I love the mango moon!
slow in the morning
drowning in my emotions
silence through the day
Great haiku!
thank you
early morning hike
dewy forest glistening✨
washing fears away
I’m wishing your family peace and rest through this trying season.💚
I love the imagery of the dew washing your fears away as you hike!
Ann, beautiful haiku!
Jenise, thank you 😊
under the moonlight
scent of soft honeysuckle—
a quiet breeze lifts
I love that you used the scent of the honeysuckle in this poem. Your haiku makes me want to sit on the porch at night and gossip with old friends
sweet and magical thought :)
Lovely!
thank you :)
Waves, ancient, timeless
wash over me with kindness
renewing my soul

Welcome back, Jason.
Take your time; your readers will be here for you.
Thanks! I love your haiku! Waves do feel ancient and timeless to me
Appreciate you, Jason!
Beautiful words. Kindness is everything 🌿
My first haiku in a long time:
Wispy steam rises
Hands wrapped around the cup
First sip for comfort
I love the whole picture you painted with this one. It feels very calm and zen--focused on a subtle moment
Thanks, Jason! Tweaked it a bit to get it to 5-7-5 and maybe work better?
Wispy steam rises
My hands wrapped around a cup
First sip of comfort
Amen, brother.
