You invariably bring your best - by which I mean some of the best - work to us (and through your books and forwarded pieces to my family). The piece you wrote of the twisted trees growing together personally resonates and I find deeply true. Love all you do.
Thank you! I love hearing that you not only enjoy my work but share it with those you love. This is what allows me to keep making stuff, both emotionally and financially. You are always generous with creators here on Substack!
Ditto Patris! I started reading Jason’s poetry as one of the first things when I joined Substack. I loved seeing Weirdo Poetry S a title !! I knew I was home when the word Weirdo was in the title. As a proud Weirdo - I knew I had to read this immediately!!
I loved the Two Old Trees poem. That's me and Jeff. He told me a year or so ago that a workmate asked him if he felt any loyalty toward the company. He said, "why would I feel loyalty toward something that would lay me off without cause? My wife has been with me for forty years and stood by me through layoffs, sickness, poverty, all kinds of bad times. I would give my loyalty to her before any company."
Thanks! I agree with Jeff. Why have loyalty to a corporation or even a brand? Our loyalty belongs to the rare people who make space for us and hold us close when the wind howls the loudest.
I had a really long silly post but seems I had to see the end of a limited series on Netflix- I HATED THE WAY IT ENDED!!! From now on I will finish writing instead. You never need to apologize- we all understand you are very busy, we also know unexpected things happen. - MOST of all FAMILY is the #thing in life. I hope things are better - you truly are one of THE NICEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD- and I M old and I know a LOT OF PEOPLE!!

I’m in the debt to the creators I have found here. You absolutely delight me.
I didn’t know what I’d find here but it is so much, much more than I expected. And am so grateful for it.
