Jason, honestly you are too kind! Your cookies are a work of art. And, like so much of your perfect haiku and narrative, your story today touched me beyond words. I’ve never been much of a baker myself, but getting back to cooking after all these years and spreading my baking wings has been nostalgic and calming and creative--a full sensory immersion. I even keep my journal on the counter, making notes as I cook.

I love the idea of keeping a journal on the counter while cooking! I know there are seasons for different things in life, and I'm grateful for you for helping me slowly move towards a season of finding joy in cooking, instead of simply viewing as one more household task.
