Thanks for the mention, Jason! Excellent post about picture books and why people need more of them.

If anyone’s looking for picture book recommendations, try Eric Carle’s Dream Snow. It’s a beautiful book and I always feel more peaceful after reading it.

Dream Snow is so good! Another Eric Carle book I love is 10 Rubber Ducks, it's based on a true story of a shipping container filled with rubber ducks that washed overboard. It's whimsical and one his weirder works.

This is wonderful!!! Thank you!! I just restacked it! One of my recent favorite picture books is The Little Bird by Germano Zullo. I also liked Everything is Okay by Debbie Tung.

Thank you Sue! I love The Little Bird! I haven't read Everything is Okay, but I saw one of my kids with it recently. I think they checked it out from the library. I'll have to see if they'll let me read it next.

I love picture books for the clean and precise writing. Each sentence is essential to the whole. Each word counts.

They really are efficient pieces of art. Kids know a great story from a snoozer at first glance!

I love this and it’s so true. I’ve been digging into graphic novels and comics more and more lately. It feels like I’m tapping into a different universe, and it’s been such a blast! I’m currently reading Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan...what a dark and gripping series!
