Thanks! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I'm on a bit of an 80s/90s electronic music kick lately. Tears for Fears, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics, and Depeche Mode are keeping me company while I draw, clean, write, and clean.
I really don't think anybody wants the job for being leader of the world.
A while ago, I came across a short video on YouTube (or it might have been a tail end of a news bit) that showed George W. Bush talking about his paintings that he started doing since completing his presidency.
For a short but profound moment, I thought: "Wow. What a beautiful human being. He was just so in the wrong job." Of course, I haven't forgotten the very real consequences of him being bad at his job as president. And no, I'm really not ok about it.
But my point is that being in the wrong job had a huge cost for everyone, so it's better to take a pay and status cut to not be in the wrong job. For, literally, everyone.
Imagine if Bush just became an artist? That's an alternate universe I'd be curious to explore.
Maybe the family business was the wrong one for GWB. While I can't know for sure, he always seemed sincere to me in his desire to do good for the United States, but he surrounded himself with scoundrels and his administration harmed (a massive understatement) so many people.
It makes me wonder what harm I may do or have done to others by not being in the right job. Perhaps I could've helped more people doing something else. Deep stuff to think about! BTW--I loved the zines!
I'm glad you liked the Zine! And I'm sure there's a story in there somewhere...
There's a (very long, and somewhat boring until the very end) book called 4321 but Paul Austere that explores alternate realities in an interesting way...
If you like audiobooks, Paul Austere narrates it himself on Audible. It's about 36 hours long - in that regard definitely a value for your credit. It got me through many many long commutes...!
I love audiobooks. That sounds like the right choice for me. I just got a credit this past week, so I'll use it for 4321. Thanks for the recommendation!
I love Tears For Fears. And today's haiku is definitely in my top five of yours! Bravo, my friend 👏 👏👏

Great bands, one and all!
*Warning - Controversial*

What an intriguing insight!
