This is gorgeous. I love the sounds of autumn. The crunching of leaves, wind through the leaves still clinging to their branches, rain (lots of it here in BC) teeming down, hissing as I fall asleep or wake
My favorite is the wind through tree branches at any time of year. I've always imagined the trees whispering to me and that I could understand if only I listened aluttle harder.
I'm a big fan of taking hikes in the fall. The sounds of the leaves crunching underfoot. The smell of decay that leads eventually to renewal. The crisp air that lends a certain blue gray tinge to all the colors. All remind you of our mortal coil and how precious the cycle of life is.
I love the sound of streams/rivers, especially in the forest. It’s so peaceful!
Totally relatable! Here’s one from 8YO me:

What a great post, Jason! The illustration is beautiful. My favorite nature sound is the call of the Gambel’s Quail, beloved in Arizona.
